Police in Telford are investigating after a burglary at an address on Rock Road in The Rock on Christmas Eve.

Items including Christmas presents stolen in Telford burglary

Some time between 10am and 5pm thieves broke into the property by smashing a panel in a wooden door at the back of the house and forcing it open.

Once inside the property it seems the thieves carried out a thorough, untidy search of the house and then stole a number of items before making their escape.

A police spokesman said:

"The items taken by the offender or offenders include a black Apple iPhone 4, a white Apple iPad, a Nintendo 3DS, a Sony PSP, a Nintendo Wii and an Aronova Tablet.

"Some of the stolen items are thought to have been Christmas presents.

"A significant amount of jewellery was also stolen during the burglary including a silver Pandora bracelet, a gold eternity ring, a gold ‘Marc Jacobs' watch and a pink ‘Ice' watch.

"However, probably the most distressing thing stolen was a white gold, heart locket on a chain which contained the ashes of a close relative of one of the occupants of the house.

"This item is obviously of huge sentimental value and therefore we are keen to find it and return it to the owner as soon as we can.

"If anyone knows where this locket is, or can help us identify the individual or individuals responsible for this break-in, we would ask they call us as soon as possible.

"Anyone with information about this burglary is asked to contact police in Telford on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 525S 241212.

"Alternatively, please remember Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you'd rather leave information without getting directly involved yourself."
