Tributes paid following death of Telford & Wrekin Councillor
Tributes are being paid following the death of a Telford & Wrekin Councillor on Christmas Eve.
Councillor Brian Duce died with his family around him following a short illness.
He was elected to Telford & Wrekin Council in May 2011 as a councillor for the Dawley Magna ward. He was also Chair of Great Dawley Parish Council.
Council Leader Kuldip Sahota said: “It is hard to find the right words to say about someone as warm, supportive and dedicated as Brian.
“He was a hard working councillor, chair of the Parish Council and did his very best for all those who asked him for help. But, more than that, Brian was a gentleman, a friend, and someone who will be missed immensely.”
Richard Partington, Telford & Wrekin’s managing director, added; “I am sure that I speak for everyone at the Council when I say how sad we are to learn of Brian’s passing.
“Our thoughts are with his family and his wife Pat at this sad time.”
