Police in Telford are appealing for information after a burglary occurred sometime between midday on 1 January and 8am on 2 January while the occupant of the house was on holiday.

Car among items stolen during Telford house burglary

Sometime during the time period thieves broke into the property in Madeley by smashing a window in a patio door at the back and then forcing the door open.

The thieves then carried out a thorough search of the entire house before stealing a number of items and making their escape in a grey, 04 registered Ford Focus that was parked on the drive. The thieves had found the keys to this car in the house.

A police spokesman said:

"It appears the thieves used the car to flee the scene with a large number of items.

"The stolen items include a 40inch, black, flatscreen television, a silver Toshiba laptop computer, a solid gold watch with a black face, an 18 carat gold, 5 Diamond half moon engagement ring and a gold ‘St Christopher' medallion.

"In addition, an antique link chain bracelet with amethysts - dated 1996 - was also stolen during this burglary.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who may have information about this burglary, or who knows where any of the stolen property can now be found. Anyone with information is asked to call us on 101 or 0300 333 3000 quoting incident number 468S 030113.

"Alternatively, please remember Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you'd rather leave information without getting directly involved yourself.
