First Shrewsbury Marathon to take place in June
The first Shrewsbury marathon which will boast a runner friendly course that takes in historical and picturesque views of the county town is to take place this summer.
The marathon which will take place on Sunday 23 June, will start and finish in the Quarry Park, with runners completing four laps – the same as the London marathon.
The event which is UKA affiliated is the first of its kind in the county town and organisers say they are expecting the event to be popular.
A half marathon will also take place on the same day starting and finishing at the Quarry Park.
