The Wrekin Housing Trust is aiming to deliver a house every day for the next four years as part of an ambitious plan to meet the needs of Shropshire and Staffordshire.

Housing trust aims to build ‘a house a day’

As part of the expansion into wider Shropshire and more rural areas, the Trust is currently recruiting for a South Shropshire Development Manager, based in Ludlow, who will work on projects to deliver affordable housing across the South Shropshire area, as well as a Project Manager to join the Trust’s Development team.

The Trust is working to build relationships with local councils and partners in this area and is encouraging anyone with land or opportunities to contact them in order to help meet the housing demand for the area.

Mrs Teale, one of the Trust’s new tenants in Ludlow said: “I think it’s great that the Trust is trying to meet the need for affordable homes in as many areas as possible, as there is definitely a need for them. My new home is perfect for myself and my daughter and the Trust has been really helpful and is a great landlord.”

Jean Teichmann, Head of Development for the Trust, said: “Here at the Trust we recognise the importance of good quality affordable homes for local people. We want to make sure communities continue to thrive and that those who have grown up a particular area can afford to stay there, which is why we have such an ambitious plan for delivering homes across all areas of Shropshire.”
