Diesel worth around £800 has been stolen from a building site in Muxton. The theft occurred at a building site on Regent Crescent sometime between midday on Friday and 7am today.

Police say thieves entered the site by taking one of the gates off its hinges. They then approached a tank containing diesel and siphoned around 900 litres out into containers before making their escape.

The thieves also tried to use a mini-digger in the yard as a window was smashed on the vehicle. However, it appears the thieves were unable to move it.

The total value of the stolen diesel is thought to be around £800 while more than £300 of damage was also caused to the mini-digger during this break-in.

Anyone who believes they may have information about this incident, especially who was responsible for it, is asked to contact officers in Telford on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 66S 210113.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you'd rather leave information without identifying yourself.
