Oakengates assault may be linked to snow ball incident
Detective investigating an assault in Oakengates in the early hours of yesterday, would like to speak to anyone who saw an earlier incident they believe is linked.

At around 2.20am, a man in his 20s was assaulted in Market Street by a man who struck him on the head from behind with what has been described as a baseball-style bat. He fell to the floor and was struck again by his attacker, who fled from the scene on foot taking the bat with him.
The victim and was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital where he was treated for a head injury and remains in a stable condition.
Detectives believe the assault may be connected to another incident that occurred on Market Street shortly before the assault, in the area of the Juke Box night club. Two men, one in a dark tracksuit and the other in a light tracksuit, were throwing snowballs at people in the area and it is thought the same man was initially assaulted, along with a woman.
Detective Sergeant Richard Roberts of Telford CID said: "We are trying to establish the full details of both incidents and how they may be linked, if at all. Many people were present in the area during both of these assaults and we need to speak to anyone who witnessed either disturbance."
