Shrewsbury man charged with drugs offences
A 51-year-old Shrewsbury man will face drug charges after police carried out a search warrant at his home.

The warrant, granted under the Misuse of Drugs Act, was conducted on November 30 last year at a house in Kynaston Road, Harlescott.
Various items were seized during the search including bags of white powder.
The man, who has been on police bail while further investigations were made, was yesterday charged with three offences and will appear before Shrewsbury magistrates on February 21.
All three charges arise from the warrant on November 30. He is accused of possessing cocaine, a controlled Class A drug with intent to supply; possessing dibenzyipiperazine, a controlled Class C drug with intent to supply; and possessing a CS gas canister.
Police Constable Andy Hawkins, the Safer Neighbourhood Officer for Harlescott Grange, said the warrant and subsequent charges were part of ongoing action by local officers against suspected drug suppliers in the area.
He said his team would continue to target those suspected of dealing drugs on the estate and it was a PACT (Partners and Communities Together) priority. “Drug-dealing is one of the main concerns for residents and it will not be tolerated by police.
“We have carried out several drug warrants prior to this one where Class A, B and C drugs were seized together with drug paraphenalia and further actions are planned. We are determined to tackle illegal drug activity and associated crime.”
PC Hawkins added: “We have the support of local residents and I would urge anyone who has information concerning drugs in the area, to contact the Safer Neighbourhood Team direct or to call Shrewsbury police station on 101.”
