Man arrested as part of murder investigation in Telford
A man in his early 30s was today arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a woman’s body at a house in Brookside yesterday.

Police officers were called to the property after a concern for welfare call was made yesterday afternoon. Officers forced their way into the address on Blakemore at just before 4pm.
The results of a post mortem carried out this afternoon are ‘inconclusive’ and the exact cause of the woman’s death is not yet known, police have said.
The woman, who is believed to be in her mid 20s, has not yet been formally identified.
Speaking about this investigation, Detective Inspector Steve Tonks, the senior investigating officer, said:
“A post mortem has now been carried out on the woman’s body but the results of this are inconclusive. Further tests will now be carried out in an attempt to establish the exact cause of her death.
“Our investigation is ongoing at the present time and although we do not yet know how the woman died, I can confirm that we are treating this as a murder investigation while we await the result of further tests.
“I can confirm that a man in his early 30s was arrested on suspicion of murder earlier today as part of this investigation and he is currently in custody at Malinsgate Police Station. He is likely to remain in custody for at least the rest of today.
“I’d like to reassure local residents that a significant number of resources are involved in this investigation and that we will release more information about it when it becomes available.
“Officers will continue to carry out house-to-house inquiries in the area for the rest of the day and work will be continuing at the address on Blakemore too.
“I would once again like to take this opportunity to ask local people to come forward with any information they have that could aid our investigation because every piece of information, no matter how small, is very important to us.
“Anyone who believes they may have information about the discovery of the woman’s body, or who witnessed anything that could be linked to this death, is asked to call West Mercia Police as soon as possible on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 326S 110213.
“Alternatively, please remember Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you’d rather leave information without identifying yourself.”
