Man arrested in connection with Telford woman’s death released on bail into care of mental health professionals
A man arrested on Tuesday morning in connection with the death of a Telford mum was yesterday released on bail into the care of mental health professionals.

Detective Inspector (DI) Steve Tonks, who is leading the investigation into the death of 27-year-old Kimberley ‘Kim’ Russell in Brookside, has this morning given the latest update on the investigation.
Kim’s body was discovered when police officers forced their way into an address on Blakemore at just before 4pm on Monday 11 February after a concern for welfare call.
DI Tonks said:
“I can confirm that the 33-year-old man arrested on Tuesday morning in connection with Kim’s death was released on bail into the care of mental health professionals late yesterday afternoon.
“We are continuing to follow up a number of lines of enquiry as part of this investigation, while work is obviously still ongoing to establish the exact cause of Kim’s death.
“Although a significant number of resources remain dedicated to this case I would once again like to take this opportunity to encourage local people to come forward if they have any information that they believe could help the investigating team.
“Every piece of information, no matter how small or insignificant it seems on the surface, is very important to us.
“We remain particularly keen to hear from anyone who can offer us information to help piece together Kim’s movements in the days leading up to her death, or anything relating to her home address on Blakemore that could be of interest to us.
“Anyone who believes they may have information that could be linked to Kim’s death, is asked to call West Mercia Police as soon as possible on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 326S 110213.
“Alternatively, please remember Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you’d rather leave information without identifying yourself.”
