Police appeal for witnesses to suspicious incident in Bayston Hill
Police in Shrewsbury have appealed for witnesses after a suspicious incident in which a teenager was asked to get in a car.

The incident happened when the schoolgirl was walking along Berwyn Drive in Bayston Hill at about 8am on Thursday morning.
A black car driven by a man pulled up alongside her and the driver asked her to get in. She ran away without responding towards Oak Meadow School and he drove off in the opposite direction.
Inspector Scott Harris, from Shrewsbury Police Station, said the youngster reported it to staff when she got to school, who called police.
“The man did not get out of his vehicle and did not attempt to touch or grab her in any way but the incident has understandably left a young girl shaken and upset,” he said.
“He did not attempt to follow her when she ran away, driving off in the opposite direction. He is described as white, aged between about 40 and 50 years old and had grey hair. He was driving a small black car.
“We are very keen to speak to this man and I would urge him to contact police as a matter of urgency on 101, along with anyone who might have seen him in the Bayston Hill area that morning or recognises his description.”
Information can also be passed on anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, were call takers do not even ask for your name.
Inspector Harris also renewed advice for young people to be mindful of their personal safety and not to speak to strangers.
“The young lady did everything right in not engaging with the man and running to a place of safety,” he said.
“Our officers will be carrying out patrols in the area as reassurance to parents and pupils.”
