Hadley primary school rated as “good”
A Telford and Wrekin primary school has been rated as “good” following a visit by government inspectors.

The primary phase of the Hadley Learning Community was inspected over two days towards the end of last year and has been upgraded from a satisfactory rating at the previous inspection.
The teaching of writing was identified as a particular strength with children achieving progress that measures above national expectations.
The inspection noted that governors know the school well and contribute to its success and that children in early years make outstanding progress and have a very good start to their education.
The report also said: “Teaching is good because teachers use good subject knowledge and assessment of pupils’ learning to plan lessons that build on what pupils have learned so they make progress and achieve well.”
“Pupils’ communication, literacy and numeracy skills are very well promoted throughout the school. Teachers are skilled, enthusiastic and encouraging so pupils are confident to contribute their ideas.”
“The teaching of writing has improved because of staff training and is now often outstanding. Effective use is made of a variety of objects, materials and real life experiences to stimulate pupils’ curiosity and creativity.”
Head teacher Erica Aston said: “This report is fabulous news for everyone connected with the school and we are absolutely delighted with the outcome.”
“I would like to thank all the staff, children, parents and governors for their hard work in making Hadley Learning Community Primary Phase a successful school.”
Councillor Paul Watling, cabinet member for Children, Young People and Families, said: “This is marvellous news and I would like to congratulate everyone associated with the school for their hard work in becoming a good school.”
“When we opened Hadley Learning Community back in 2006, we were very much focussed on improving results for local children and it is fantastic that this is beginning to bear fruit.”
