Last inmates moved from Shrewsbury prison
The last remaining prisoners will today leave The Dana Prison in Shrewsbury which is set to close next month.

The prison was one of six announced for closure in January as part of plans to replace older prisons and bring down the cost of the prison system. The plans are expected to save £63 million a year.
Around 300 prisoners were at the category C site when its closure announcement was made on January 10.
The prison employed 189 staff members.
Five other prisons set to close are Bullwood Hall in Essex, Canterbury, Gloucester, Kingston in Portsmouth and Shepton Mallet.
