Nursery school hailed as “outstanding” by government inspectors
A Telford nursery school is celebrating after being hailed as “outstanding” following a government inspection.
The Ofsted report into Madeley Nursery School said children there achieve exceptionally well in all areas of learning.
It also highlights that the nursery provides a very safe learning environment and that staff have created “exciting” learning opportunities inside and outside which children visit and explore with delight.
Relationships between children and adults are very strong and the report says this leads to outstanding behaviour.
The report adds: “Teaching is outstanding because the staff reflect on their practice at the end of every session in a meeting when individual children’s learning is discussed in depth and their next steps planned.
“All staff are extremely committed to doing the best they can for the children in their charge.”
Head teacher Louise Lowings said the success of the school is down to team work between the wonderful children and their families, the school governors and the dedicated staff team.
“It is great that we have received this wonderful acknowledgement of the school and its efforts from Ofsted and we will continue to do our best to develop the care and education we offer here at Madeley Nursery School.”
Councillor Paul Watling, cabinet member for Children, Young People and Families, said: “I would like to congratulate everyone associated with Madeley Nursery on their fantastic progress which has led to them getting the ultimate accolade from Ofsted.
“It has been an excellent effort by the staff, pupils, parents and governors and I look forward to the Nursery School progressing and improving even further in the future.”
The inspection took place over two days in December last year. The nursery school has 69 children aged three to four on its roll.
