Man charged following assault on train at Wellington
A man has been charged with two counts of assault by beating, common assault, criminal damage, travel fraud and behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress following an incident on a train in Wellington.

The man was arrested following the incident on the 1847hrs Shrewsbury to Birmingham New Street service, which occurred around 7pm on Saturday, 12 January.
While carrying out a routine ticket check, the conductor asked a passenger who refused to buy a ticket to leave the service at the next stop.
When he refused to do so, he became aggressive towards the conductor and assaulted him. Some passengers then intervened and helped usher the man off the train at Wellington, during which one of the passengers was also assaulted.
