Police in Telford are appealing for witnesses after an assault in Donnington last week left a man with head and neck injuries.

Man injured in assault at Donnington bookmakers

The incident occurred in the Corals bookmakers on The Parade on Wednesday 27 February.

At around 12.30pm a verbal altercation occurred between two men who were both in their 20s. This became physical and as a result of this the 25-year-old man suffered injuries to his head and neck.

A short time later a man 23-year-old was arrested in connection with this incident but he has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Sometime between 12pm and 1pm on the day in question the 25-year-old man’s car – which was parked outside the bookmakers – also had its wing mirror snapped off. At this stage it is not known whether this was connected to the altercation that took place.

Officers investigating this incident are keen to speak to anyone in the bookmakers who witnessed it, or anyone who may have any idea what caused the altercation in the first place.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Violent Crime Team and Malinsgate Police Station on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting reference number 259S 270213.

Alternatively, please remember Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.
