Police investigate burglary in Ketley
Police in Telford are investigating after a burglary at an address on Candleberry Meadow, Ketley, sometime between 3.30pm on Saturday and 3.25pm Sunday.
Thieves entered the property by using a tool or implement of some sort to force open a window at the rear of the house.
Once inside the house the thieves then carried out a thorough search before stealing a number of items and making their escape.
A police spokesman said:
“Although a full list of the stolen items has yet to be compiled, among the items that were definitely taken were an Apple iPad, a laptop computer, a significant amount of jewellery including some old war medals, and also a number of handbags.
“The total value of the stolen items is likely to be several thousand pounds.
“Police officers investigating this break-in are keen to hear from anyone who may have information about it, especially anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in this part of Ketley over the weekend.
“Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting reference number 382S 100313.
“Alternatively, please remember Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you'd rather leave information without getting directly involved yourself.
“We would also like to remind people of the need to secure their homes at all times as opportunist thieves are out and about looking for vulnerable properties to target.
