Jogger assaulted near Shrewsbury during attempted robbery
An 18-year-old jogger has suffered cuts and bruises after being assaulted by two men in a car who pulled up alongside him near Shrewsbury.

The assault happened at around 10am yesterday as the victim was running along Shrewsbury Road, Albrighton, towards Shrewsbury.
The man was punched to the ground and threatened with a razor blade by one of the men who went through his pockets demanding money and his phone.
After searching the jogger and not finding anything in his pockets, the man got back into the car and drove off.
Police are treating the incident as robbery and today issued an appeal for witnesses.
A black car, thought to be an Audi, drove past him towards Shrewsbury and then turned round. A man got out of the passenger side and asked the jogger for money and his mobile before punching him in the face and stomach.
He suffered minor cuts and bruising which did not require hospital treatment.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said it was believed there were two people in the car, which may have had tinted windows.
“This was a vicious and unprovoked assault and we are appealing for any information which might help us trace the offenders.”
The main assailant is described as white, aged about 30, of skinny build with a long brown or black beard. He was wearing a white beanie hat, blue jeans and a large black puffy jacket.
Information should be forwarded to Shrewsbury police station by calling 101, or to the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
