Staff member escapes injury during Wellington Co-op robbery
A staff member working at a Co-op store in Wellington escaped injury yesterday when a man armed with a screwdriver threatened and threw it at them during a robbery.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the store on North Road was robbed at around 2.45pm.
The man threw the screwdriver at the staff member and missed, before running out of the shop with the cash drawer from the till, which contained less than £200. He was seen running along Ternway towards Grinshill Flats.
The robber had his faced covered with a makeshift balaclava made from a green beanie hat with a red bobble on the top. He was also wearing a dark blue hooded top, boots and what were described as workman’s trousers or jeans.
He was white, around 5ft 4ins tall, stocky and spoke with a Telford accent.
Inspector Dick Langton said: “Thankfully nobody was hurt in what appears to have been quite an amateurish robbery. We need to find the person involved and I hope someone will recognise the very distinctive description.
“While we have the screwdriver, which is now being forensically examined, we have yet to recover the till drawer. If anyone finds one locally, possibly in the Dothill area, please contact West Mercia Police immediately."
