Telford & Wrekin Council’s new discount card to help residents
Telford & Wrekin Council’s new borough-wide discount card is on its way and promises to be a new way of helping residents to save money.

The TLC (Telford Loyalty Card) is free of charge and will save cardholders money on activities at all Council leisure facilities.
More than 80 local businesses have already signed up to the scheme and will offer a variety of discounts at shops and services across the borough.
The TLC will be delivered to all homes in the borough from April 15th inside the Council’s Your Voice newspaper.
Residents will need to register their card online or at council leisure centres or at the council’s First Point service at Addenbrooke House in Telford Town Centre, Wellington Civic and Leisure Centre, Newport or Madeley in order to start making the most of some great money saving opportunities.
A list of participating businesses and their offers will be available through a dedicated website later this month.
Telford & Wrekin Council has already built on its co-operative approach by lining up two high profile sponsors for the new card – Telford College and AFC Telford United.
“We are delighted to be given the opportunity to sponsor the new TLC, which offers significant advantages to cardholders,” said Janet Ellis, chief executive of Telford College.
“This sponsorship will help to further raise the college’s profile in the borough and we have been working co-operatively with the council to get the message across to residents that the card brings a huge range of money-saving benefits.”
Lee Carter, chairman of AFC Telford United, said: “Helping residents become more active and do more sport has knock on benefits in the long term for the club and so we are delighted to be able to sponsor the TLC.”
Councillor Shaun Davies, cabinet member for Neighbourhood Services and Co-operative Council, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce the launch of the borough’s new discount card.
“The TLC is a fantastic way of helping residents save money at local businesses as well as accessing discounted services at many council leisure facilities.
“It is also being supported by two excellent high profile sponsors and I would like to thank both of those as well as all the businesses that are supporting the launch of the card with discounts.”
Councillor Arnold England, cabinet member for Leisure and Well-being, said: “As well as offering a wide range of discounts, the TLC is part of the council’s drive to get more people more physically active and its launch also coincides with the Council taking on responsibility for public health from the NHS.”
