Shrewsbury’s A5 closed northbound following lorry fire

The road was closed northbound between the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital Island and the Churncote Island following the incident this lunchtime.

Traffic in the area is backing up as a result of the closure. Heavy congestion is causing delays for motorists using the inner ring road in Shrewsbury.

The road is expected to re-open from 5:00 pm.
