Two weeks until local elections in Shropshire
There are just over two weeks to go until the Shropshire Council area goes to the polls to vote for their local council representatives.

The polls are open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 2 May 2013, and people are being encouraged to make sure they use their vote.
Voters should have been sent their polling card, which says where they should go to cast their vote, but a full list of polling stations is available here.
In total, over 1,400 seats are up for election at parish and town councils, together with 74 unitary seats (representing 63 county divisions).
Some areas which will not hold a poll, as there were insufficient nominations put forward to hold a contest. There are six Shropshire Council divisions which will not be contested – Corvedale, Shawbury, St Oswald, The Meres, Whitchurch North and Whitchurch South.
Claire Porter, Shropshire’s returning officer, said:
“It’s really important that people ensure they can place their vote for the forthcoming elections, so they can have a say on who represents them on their local council. Anyone who has applied for a postal vote should be getting them through their letterboxes soon, and we would urge them to send them back as soon as they can.
“If you are expecting to vote at a polling station, your poll card contains the details of the polling station you should use, and polls will be open from 7am to 10pm on Thursday 2 May. If you have any queries please contact our elections team on 0345 678 9015 or email elections@shropshire.gov.uk.”
