Lawley Primary pupils send message to the future
Youngsters from Lawley Primary sent a message to the future by burying a time capsule in the grounds of a new pub and restaurant in the heart of the newly built Lawley Village.

The pupils filled the time capsule with samples of their schoolwork, pages from the school website, a stationary pack, a school jumper and photo packs from the various activities they have done at school.
The Grazing Cow, which has been built by Marston’s Inns and Taverns, will be able to welcome around 180 covers and offer a range of drinks and fresh, quality family-focused pub food.
Mrs Elaine Barton Deputy Head at Lawley Primary said: “This was such a great idea and really challenged the children to think about history by leaving something for people to discover in the future.”
“The children have been learning all about the 1970s, they opened their very own 70s restaurant for all their parents to attend. They have looked at the legacy of times gone by and now have left their very own in their home town.” Year five teacher Mrs Olenik added.
A plaque will also be put up in the Grazing Cow with the date of when the capsule was buried.
Pub deputy Manager Daniel Head said: “The time capsule is not only a fascinating project for youngsters to take part in, but it’s also quite symbolic for us too – we’re at the exciting beginning of something new with Grazing Cow which will be around for generations of families to enjoy.”
