Two killed in A458 crash involving car and motorcycle
A man and a woman have died following a collision between a motorcycle and car near Shrewsbury on Sunday afternoon.

The man and woman, both believed to be in their forties, died from injuries sustained in the collision on the A458 at Rowton, Halfway House – midway between Shrewsbury and Welshpool.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When crews arrived they found a motorcycle and car which had been involved in a significant collision.
“Sadly it quickly became apparent to crews that nothing could be done to save the two riders of the motorcycle, a man and a woman, and they were confirmed dead on scene.
“The three occupants of the car, two women and a man, sustained minor injuries. All three were assessed on scene, one woman was immobilised as a precaution, before they were taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.”
Police Constable Richard Bramwell, the investigating officer, said: “We are continuing to piece together the circumstances leading up to this tragedy.
“Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have seen either the car or the motorcycle immediately beforehand, is asked to contact me at Shrewsbury police station by calling 101 or 0300 333 3000.
“Do make contact if you saw anything at all which may assist the police investigation.”
PC Bramwell said the black Yamaha V-Max motorcycle was travelling west towards Welshpool and the car, a black Vauxhall Astra hatchback in the opposite direction towards Shrewsbury.
Formal identification has yet to be carried out on the two who died. The Shropshire coroner Mr John Ellery has been informed and an inquest is likely to be opened later this week.
The A458 road was closed for more than five hours while the emergency services worked at the scene.
