Murder enquiry launched following death of man in Oswestry
Police have launched a murder enquiry and an 18-year-old man has been arrested after a man died in Oswestry.

Officers were called to the car park in Lord Street at about 8.20pm last night, following reports a man had suffered a puncture wound to the stomach.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Following enquiries, a man was arrested on suspicion of murder at about 3am this morning and remains in police custody, where he will be interviewed later today.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil Jamieson, from West Mercia Police’s Major Incident Unit, appealed for anyone who might have witnessed the incident to contact police as a matter of urgency on 101.
“At this stage it appears the victim, who is in his early 20s, suffered a single puncture wound to the stomach and, despite the efforts of paramedics and hospital staff, died shortly after arrival in hospital,” he said.
“The investigation is still in the very early stages and we are still working to establish the exact circumstances leading to the man’s death.
“Several witnesses have already come forward to speak to police and I urge anybody else who might have seen what happened or the events leading up to it to get in touch on 101.”
The man who died has yet to be formally identified but his family is aware.
