Arrests made following Shrewsbury town centre incident
Two men were arrested after allegedly threatening a police officer in Wyle Cop, Shrewsbury on Friday afternoon.
The men, aged 19 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of affray, possessing a bladed article and criminal damage.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said two members of the public had approached police offering to assist while the suspects were being restrained.
“It was good of them to offer support and the investigating officer would like them to make contact so we can offer our thanks. They can contact Shrewsbury police station by calling 101.
“One man was driving a black pickup truck, possibly a Mitsubishi L200 and the other a silver Peugeot.”
They have since been given police bail with conditions pending further inquiries.
