Police in Telford are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at an address on Selbourne in Sutton Hill early yesterday.

Pregnant woman admitted to hospital following robbery in Telford

At just before 12.30am, a number of people dressed in dark clothing and with their faces covered approached the address and pushed their way in through the front door.

The group of individuals that entered the house – which included men and women – demanded money from the three women who were in the address – one of whom is pregnant.

The three women stated they did not have any money and all three then found themselves assaulted by the intruders.

A police spokesman said:

“While the intruders were in the house three men returned home and at this point a fight broke out between the men and the intruders.

“The disorder continued for a short time before the intruders fled the house on foot and made off into Sutton Hill. It appears the intruders did steal two Blackberry mobile phones from inside the property before they made their escape.

“As a result of this incident a number of people received medical treatment for minor injuries. In addition, the pregnant woman was admitted to hospital as a precaution to have her unborn child monitored.

“Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have information about this incident, or anyone who believes they may know the identity of any of the individuals involved.

“Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 0005N 160413.

“Alternatively, pleased remember that Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you’d rather pass on information without identifying yourself.”
