Shrewsbury Flower Show has appointed a new Operations Director in time for the 126th Show.

New Operations Director for Shrewsbury Flower Show

Following a 24 year career in the RAF, Kim Leach has taken over from Peter Road-Night and will become one of the three full-time staff at the Show, combining the roles of both Secretary of the Shropshire Horticultural Society and Operations Director of the Shrewsbury Flower Show.

Having recently relocated to Market Drayton, Kim said: “I believe that this post is one of the most exciting and challenging opportunities in Shropshire. Working for the Society, which is also a charity, will be extremely rewarding. I am looking forward to being part of a dedicated team which includes all the volunteers who generously give up their time to make the Show a success.”

Keen to make her mark on the Show, one of Kim’s main aims is to involve the public in the planning for future Shows and understand their expectations. She said: “One of the best things about Shrewsbury Flower Show is that the public can be a part of it through the many competitions! It will always have horticulture at its heart, but the goal is to continue to develop its appeal to an even wider audience. This year, we will be seeking feedback during and after the Show to ensure that we continue to attract top entertainment and celebrities as well as world-class horticulture.”

This year’s 126th Shrewsbury Flower Show will take place on the 9th and 10th August.
