Shrewsbury MP looks to attract investment for shopping centre
Shrewsbury’s MP has announced a fresh campaign to attract new investment to the proposed Shrewsbury Riverside Shopping Centre project.

Daniel Kawczynski’s pledge comes after learning the project has experienced difficulties and delays because of the dramatic impact the current economic climate and changes in the retail market have had on investment from high street and shopping centre retail.
Mr Kawczynski has also met with the projects developers.
The campaign will see the Shrewsbury MP work with the Chief Executive of UK Trade and Investment Nick Baird to identify and attract the appropriate level of investment for the project from overseas.
Commenting on the new drive for investment, Daniel said “The Riverside Shopping Centre project represents a fantastic opportunity for Shrewsbury. Not only will the shopping centre be a lively new hub of activity in the town, but it will add to the local economy as its brings new jobs and attracts shoppers from around the county into town.
Ensuring the development continues without interruption is a top priority – I will be working closely with the Chief Executive of UKTI Mr Nick Baird to find potential investors to further support the project.”
