Celebration marks official opening of Hadley Centre
The official opening of Hadley centre following the first phase of the centres regeneration takes place today.

Between 12pm and 2pm those visiting the centre will be entertained by Telford Jubilee Band, a bouncy castle, balloons and guest of honour, Eric Smith from BBC Radio Shropshire.
A formal ribbon cutting will also mark the official opening of the first phase of the new Hadley Centre.
Work on the regeneration began last June with the demolition of 12 retail units and maisonettes ready for the construction of brand new retail units.
As well as a new Tesco Express, Rowlands Pharmacy, Hadley Under Fives a dentist, fish and chip shop and Greggs have also taken up units in the centre.
Hadley Vets remain open in their current location and will continue to provide this well established business until they eventually relocate into the second phase retail units.
Councillor Charles Smith, cabinet member for Housing, Development and Borough Towns, said: “Telford & Wrekin Council has worked hard to regenerate much needed areas within the borough and Hadley is no exception.
“I’m delighted that the first phase of the new Hadley Village Centre is opening and we now have a well located, modern shopping provision to serve the local community and help kick start the local economy.”
Councillor John Smart, Chairman of Hadley & Leegomery Parish Council, said: “I couldn’t be more thrilled that Hadley now has such modern facilities in the village centre.
“The regeneration works have completely lifted the feel of the centre and I’m sure it’s going to go from strength to strength.
“I’m particularly pleased that we have been able to work in partnership with the borough and to maintain the weekly market throughout the works, and that, combined with the new shops will really put the hustle and bustle into Hadley.”
Subject to a number of conditions being met, the Council hopes to be able to progress on to Phase 2 of the redevelopment project later in the Summer.
