First phase of Hadley Centre opens for business
The first phase of the regeneration of Hadley Centre was officially opened on Saturday.

BBC Radio Shropshire breakfast presenter and guest of honour Eric Smith cut the ribbon to declare the new Hadley centre units open for business.
The crowds also heard from Telford & Wrekin Council leader Councillor Kuldip Sahota and Councillor John Smart, Hadley & Leegomery Parish Council chairman.
The event also unveiled a new Heritage Information Board celebrating the history of Hadley.
Work on the regeneration began last June with the demolition of 12 retail units and maisonettes ready for the construction of brand new retail units.
Councillor Charles Smith, cabinet member for Housing, Development and Borough Towns, said: “Telford & Wrekin Council has worked hard to regenerate much needed areas within the borough and Hadley is no exception.
“I’m delighted that the first phase of the new Hadley Village Centre is now open and we now have a well located, modern shopping provision to serve the local community and help kick start the local economy.”
Councillor John Smart, Chairman of Hadley & Leegomery Parish Council, said: “I couldn’t be more thrilled that Hadley now has such modern facilities in the village centre.
“The regeneration works have completely lifted the feel of the centre and I’m sure it’s going to go from strength to strength.
“I’m particularly pleased that we have been able to work in partnership with Telford & Wrekin Council and to maintain the weekly market throughout the works, and that, combined with the new shops will really put the hustle and bustle into Hadley.”
