Police campaign to reduce burglaries in Woodside, Telford
Telford & Wrekin Council and West Mercia Police are launching a campaign to help reduce the amount of burglaries in Woodside.

The council and the police have been working with Smartwater to give victims of domestic burglaries and their neighbours Smartwater kits.
The Smartwater kits allow residents to mark valuable items with a unique code; the unique code is registered to you and your property.
Metal signs will also be placed on lighting columns in the areas to deter offenders. The campaign aim is to raise awareness and increasing security measures, to deter offenders and reduce burglaries.
Both the police and the council are promoting the use of www.immobilise.com
If residents register on to the site, it helps the police identify the owners of lost and stolen property.
Councillor Hilda Rhodes, cabinet member for Customer Services, Libraries and Transport said:
“This is a proactive way of helping to protect residents and build the sense of community in our borough towns.
“We have worked closely with both West Mercia Police and Smartwater to identify who the kits should be given to and we hope that it will have a positive impact in Woodside.”
Detective Chief Inspector Jason Wells said: "Telford remains a low crime area, but historically, Woodside has seen on average, a higher number of crimes.
“Working with Telford & Wrekin Council and Smartwater, I feel this initiative will give us a real opportunity to help the community of Woodside protect their homes."
