Viscount Boyne has been appointed as this year’s Shrewsbury Flower Show’s President and is the third member of his family to hold this title over three generations.

Shrewsbury Flower Show appoints this year’s Show President

In 1947 his great grandmother was named Show President and Viscount Boyne’s father was awarded the title twice, once in 1962 and then again in 1993.

Viscount Boyne said: ‘’I am really looking forward to this year’s Shrewsbury Flower Show now in its 126th year.

“It is a great honour to take up mantle as Show President and follow in the footsteps of my great grandfather and father before me. I am looking forward especially to meeting the Members of the Shropshire Horticultural Society and visitors to the Show, and of course enjoying the Show itself.’’

The 2013 show promises to be yet another great one for the Shrewsbury Flower Show with a variety of entertainment, floral competitions and food and drink for all, as well as headline acts Paul Hollywood and award winning Folk music band Bellowhead.

This year is the 126th year of the Shrewsbury Flower Show and will take place on the 9th and 10th August.
