ASBO and warning of imprisonment for nuisance Ludlow man
A 22-year-old Ludlow man has been warned he could face up to five years in prison if he breaches a Criminal Anti-Social Behaviour Order imposed by magistrates.
The CrASBO was made by Telford and South Shropshire magistrates court yesterday following an application by West Mercia Police.
Carl Graham Phasey, of Riddings Road had been reported on a number of occasions for behaving in an anti-social manner on the Sandpits estate, in Ludlow town centre and at social housing locations.
Sergeant Adrian Woolley said:
“Phasey was brought back to court after acting in an aggressive manner in the Bull Hotel on February 2, only two weeks before his previous CrASBO was to end. He was charged with being in breach of an anti-social behaviour order.”
Under the two-year order made yesterday, Phasey must not be drunk in any public place in Ludlow, act or incite others to act in an anti-social manner, enter The Foyer, Marstons Mill, Ludlow or its grounds or enter Eidelweiss in Lower Galdeford and its grounds.
He was told that breaking any of the terms would be an offence and could lead to a fine or a prison sentence of up to five years.
Sergeant Woolley said:
“Phasey has been an absolute nuisance to the local community. The court order will help protect the public and those vulnerable from drunken anti-social behaviour.”
He added: “Anyone who poses a risk of causing harm to the public will become the focus of the local police Safer Neighbourhood Team and if necessary, they will be arrested and put before the courts.
“Local communities should not have to tolerate such behaviour and the police will take a tough line on those who harass, alarm or cause distress to others.”
