Telford man arrested after weapons seized at Heathrow Airport
A man from Telford has been arrested after a stun gun and steel batons were seized at Heathrow Airport on Saturday.

The items were seized by Border Force officers after they were discovered in luggage that had arrived on a flight from Thailand. The stun gun was disguised as a police torch.
A 33-year-old man from Wellington Road in Muxton near Telford was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the importation of prohibited/restricted goods. He has been bailed until 13 August.
Ryan Kennedy, from Border Force at Heathrow Airport, said:
“Just because you can legally buy an item while on holiday abroad does not mean you can bring it back to the UK.
“Carrying items that are banned or for which a licence or permit is needed is illegal. Officers will seize these items and people caught smuggling them could also face prosecution and imprisonment.
“Border Force is here to ensure these weapons are kept out of the UK as they can serve no purpose other than to harm people. We don’t want them on our streets.”
