A 69-year-old man was left shaken after four men robbed him in his Telford home last night.

Man left shaken as robbers target Telford home

The man was sat on his sofa watching television, when three or four unknown men burst in through his back door at around 11.30pm in Sandbrook, Ketley.

Having pulled his phone connection out of the wall, two of the men restrained the victim on the sofa while the other men went through his wallet and searched his living room.

Having only found £40 in the victim’s wallet the men demanded to know where his safe was so they could have money out of it.

The victim opened the safe for the men and they stole more than £400 before fleeing the scene with the cash.

A police spokesman said:

“The victim has been left very shaken by this incident but thankfully he did not suffer any physical injuries.

“As all the men that entered his house had hoods up and their faces covered the victim has not been able to give detailed descriptions of the offenders. However, he has stated that he believes that one of the men was black and very tall.

“Officers from CID in Telford investigating this crime are very keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything last night that could be linked to it.

“Anyone with possible information about this incident is asked to contact officers in Telford on 101, quoting incident number 279N 250613.

“Alternatively, please remember information can also be left anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
