Telford & Wrekin community leaders meet to discuss closer working
Community leaders in Telford and Wrekin have met to discuss the possibility of signing a voluntary pledge to work even more closely to make the borough a safer place.

Faith leaders, councillors and senior police officers attended the head to head talks at Malinsgate police station.
The initial meeting covered a lot of ground and discussed how the different groups represented can work together and with the community they represent to tackle issues of anti social behaviour.
Superintendent Nav Malik said: “The aim of the meeting was to give representatives of the different communities in the borough a platform to voice their views and to discuss ways they can work together.
“One of the key issues highlighted was how communities communicate with each other.
“This was an exploratory discussion and there will be more talks going forward in the coming weeks.
“We are looking at the option of drafting a pledge that everyone signs up to, pledging that everyone will work very closely together to make Telford and Wrekin an even safer place to live.”
Telford & Wrekin Council leader Councillor Kuldip Sahota said: “It was a very positive meeting and it was excellent that so many different communities were represented.
“There is a lot more ground for us to cover in future but this was a good way to start and I look forward to seeing what the group comes up with.”
