Six arrested as part of major police operation
Six people are in custody in Shrewsbury and Telford after a number of warrants were executed this morning at addresses in the West Midlands as part of an ongoing operation into serious organised crime.

Four warrants were executed in relation to drugs offences as part of a joint strike day involving West Mercia Police’s and Warwickshire Police’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit (SOCU), West Midland Police’s Guns and Gangs Task Force, West Mercia Police’s Force Operations Support Team and officers from the local Neighbourhood Police Teams in Wolverhampton South.
The ongoing, longer term operation is also being supported by the Serious and Organised Crime Agency (SOCA).
Two women and a man (aged 18, 42 and 26) respectively were arrested as a result of this morning’s warrants, while three other men (aged 24, 31 and 21) who are already serving prison time have been produced from prison for arrest this morning.
Speaking about this morning’s warrants, Detective Sergeant Andy Bailey said:
“This morning’s warrants – which were executed at just before 7am – are part of an ongoing operation into the supply of Class A drugs in the Worcester area.
“A number of people have already been prosecuted during this operation but we will not rest until we believe we have brought everyone involved to justice.
“The warrants were executed in Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Erdington today and I’d like to thank all the agencies involved for their co-operation and support with this major operation.
“Searches are ongoing at the addresses we have targeted and these searches are likely to continue for some time.”
