Telford nursery closes doors ahead of move to farm location
Staff and children are saying farewell to their nursery launched more than 20 years ago in Telford as they prepare to move to a new home.

It will end a five-year bid by ABC Day Nursery to find an ideal replacement for its current Wrockwardine site.
Penny and Richard Hustwick, company directors, said they were delighted that the move to Hoo Farm at Preston upon the Weald Moors was finally going ahead.
They had feared the worst after the planning application was originally recommended for rejection by council officers early this year before being approved by councillors.
Mrs Hustwick said: “This is an exciting time for ABC Nursery. We were relieved when we managed to secure planning permission for the new site after we were unable to renew our lease at Wrockwardine.
“However, because of the delay in getting planning approval we were not able to transfer to the new site as quickly as we wanted to.
“Fortunately, our landlord was accommodating and agreed to renew our lease until July.”
The couple had been searching for suitable rural land or premises for five years before they came across the new location at Hoo Farm.
They said: “We are really looking forward to moving to our new home, which is perfect for our needs.
“We wanted to find a location that could be a place where children could continue to learn in rural surroundings.
“It was important that it would provide a stable and stimulating environment. The children are our number one priority and the potential location was key to their learning and enjoyment.
“We already had connections with Hoo Farm as our pre-school children have visits there to learn more about the wildlife.”
Nursery staff have been keen to ensure there is as little disruption as possible to the children’s learning and will make the move over a weekend at the end of July.
Mrs Hustwick “It will be sad to leave Wrockwardine as this is where it all started just over 20 years ago.
“However, it is time to move forward and this will be the next stage in our journey providing good quality nursery accommodation for youngsters in the Telford and surrounding area.”
She said it would be sad to leave their current site at Wrockwardine where it all began.
“We have a lot of good memories of our time here. Hundreds of children have come through our doors and have been given a good start to succeed in life.
“Our success is also due to our fantastic staff who work very hard to ensure children learn in a safe and warm environment.”
ABC also has nurseries in Lightmoor, Hollinswood and Hadley, all of which have achieved Outstanding ratings with education watchdog Ofsted.
