Police make fresh witness appeal over A5 bridge death
Police have issued a new appeal for witnesses following the death of a 28-year-old man who fell from a bridge onto the busy A5 between Shrewsbury and Telford.

A number of witnesses have come forward following the incident at around 10.35am on Monday 8 July, but investigating officers say they are anxious to trace a motorist believed to have been passing the scene.
Daniel Murphy, of Millmead, Sutton Farm, Shrewsbury died when he fell from a bridge carrying the B4394 over the A5 onto the eastbound carriageway. It’s thought he was struck by at least one vehicle.
Police Constable Gareth Bee said today: “The investigation into the circumstances leading up to this tragedy are continuing and a large number of witnesses have already come forward.
“However, we are appealing for the driver of a dark coloured saloon, thought to be five or six years old, to get in touch with Shrewsbury or Telford police by calling 101.
“We believe this car was very close to the spot where Mr Murphy lay on the carriageway. The driver is thought to be a man in his sixties.”
PC Bee said he was grateful to all those who have already come forward in response to witness appeals.
A report into the death is currently preparing for the coroner’s inquest.
