Hadley Centre ready for next phase of regeneration
Demolition is due to start in August to pave the way for the second phase of the £2.3 million regeneration of the Hadley Centre.

Telford & Wrekin Council has been working in partnership with Hadley & Leegomery Parish Council throughout the Hadley Centre regeneration in order to drive the improvements forward to provide a more inviting centre with modern shops and services for residents.
Phase one of the development opened earlier this summer with an official celebration on Saturday 1 June.
It has been confirmed that demolition work will start on site on 5 August with completion in late autumn.
The footbridge will be closed for this period to enable the demolition and site clearance works to be carried out as well as construction of a new ramp and steps.
The footbridge was already set to be closed for a period to enable repair and resurfacing work to be undertaken which will minimise disruption. These repair works will now happen while the footbridge is closed in addition to some necessary highway maintenance works.
Councillor Richard Overton, cabinet member for Borough Town Development and Policy, said: “Telford & Wrekin Council has worked hard to regenerate many of the areas within the borough most in need of the work and Hadley is no exception.
“I’m delighted that the initial stage of the work towards the second phase of the new Hadley Village Centre is now ready to begin.
“The first phase has been a great success and we now have a well located, modern shopping provision to serve the local community and help kick start the local economy.”
Councillor John Smart, Chairman of Hadley & Leegomery Parish Council, said: “I’m really pleased that the next phase in the Hadley regeneration can now begin.
“The first phase of the regeneration works have completely lifted the feel of the centre and provided Hadley with brilliant modern facilities.
“I’m particularly pleased that we’ve been able to work in partnership with Telford & Wrekin Council to ensure this project is a success.”
