Police in Telford have today taken the unusual step of naming a man they would like to speak to in connection with an incident that occurred in Dawley Bank yesterday afternoon.

Police name man wanted in connection with Telford incident

The incident occurred outside the Queens Arms on Bank Road at just before 5pm yesterday afternoon.

As a result of this incident – which saw four men involved in some sort of altercation - a man suffered a stab wound to his bottom but thankfully the injury is not thought to be serious.

It seems the injured man also had some money stolen from him during this incident.

Speaking about this investigation, Temporary Detective Inspector Paul Mathison said:

“This is a worrying incident as it occurred in broad daylight late in the afternoon and appears to have involved the use of a weapon of some sort.

“Two men – aged 32 and 41 – have been arrested in relation to this incident and are currently in custody, but we are also searching for a third man we would like to speak to.

“Due to the seriousness of this incident I would like to take the unusual step of naming this man as 28-year-old Ian Voyce – a man who knows we are looking for him.

“I would ask anyone who knows where Ian Voyce is to call us with that information so we can then speak to him to see whether he had any involvement in this incident yesterday afternoon.

“Anyone with information about Ian Voyce’s whereabouts, or the incident outside the Queens Arms itself, is asked to call officers in CID in Telford on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 361S 230713.

“Alternatively, please remember that information can also be pass on anonymously by call the independent charity, Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.”
