CCTV appeal after Telford woman is assaulted on train
British Transport Police officers investigating an assault on board a train in Shropshire have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

Investigating officer PC Dave Hall said: “The victim, a 25-year-old woman from Telford, was on the 1647hrs Shrewsbury to Birmingham New Street service when a man, who had previously been sitting at the other end of the carriage, came to sit behind her.
“Around five minutes later, the man assaulted her.
“Shortly after, a number of passengers boarded the train at Wellington.
“This was understandably a distressing experience for the victim, who was left extremely upset by what had taken place.
“Assaults of this nature are extremely rare on the rail network, but, when they do occur, we will do all we can to track down those responsible.
“I am now calling on the public to help find the person responsible and bring this individual to justice.”
The incident took place around 5pm on Thursday, 4 July, on a train between Shrewsbury and Wellington.
Having viewed CCTV footage, officers have identified a person they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
He is described as an Asian man in his late 30s to early 40s, clean shaven with short dark hair. He was wearing dark clothing and had a blue and grey rucksack.
“It is a very clear image and I am convinced someone will recognise this individual. We are anxious to speak with him as we believe he will have information which can assist the investigation,” said PC Hall.
“If you recognise the man pictured, or have any information about the incident, I would urge you to please come forward and talk to us. Your information could be vital to this investigation.”
