Dawley library closes its door to make way for brand new library
Telford & Wrekin Council is set to open its new library in Dawley that will form part of the £16m Phoenix Academy complex at the beginning of next month.

The new library will replace the current Dawley library which will close its doors for the last time on Saturday 17 August.
While the library is closed and prior to the new library opening, residents will be able to borrow extra books, return and renew books at any other Telford & Wrekin library, go online to renew books and keep up to date with progress on the move.
The new library will provide books for all ages as well as free computer and internet access. It's the second of three opening in the borough in the space of just three years.
Last year the new library at Wellington Civic and Leisure Centre opened and the opening of the new Dawley Library will be followed by another new library in the Southwater One community building in Telford town centre next year.
Councillor Hilda Rhodes, cabinet member for Libraries, said: “We’re very happy to be opening the second new library in Telford & Wrekin in just over a year.
“There will be another new library opened in less than nine months time, to add to the one at Wellington and this new library in Dawley.
“The new Phoenix Academy opens to staff, pupils and the community in September and part of the many fantastic facilities that people can use will be the new library, replacing the current one in Dawley.
“These are very exciting developments and represent an unprecedented investment in our library facilities. Libraries in 2013 are very much centres of information rather than just being places that lend books and I can’t wait to see all the new facilities open to residents in the borough.”
