Police release image of Shifnal robbers getaway car
Police investigating a cash van robbery outside a bank in Shifnal have released an image of the getaway car.

The image was caught on CCTV cameras as the car parked up yards from Barclays Bank in The Square at around 12.45pm on Tuesday when the two robbers escaped with a cash box containing a “significant” amount of money.
One man remained in the vehicle while the other confronted a security officer threatening him with a hammer. The robber grabbed a cash box which was being carried before jumping back into the car.
Detective Inspector Mark Bellamy said the getaway vehicle was a silver coloured Seat Leon bearing false number plates with a yellow taxi-type sign on its roof displaying the numbers 33 33 33.
It was driven up Victoria Street, turned into Broadway and stopped at the junction with Aston Street just prior to the robbery. It made off along Aston Street towards Tong and the A41.
He renewed the appeal for witnesses to call Shrewsbury police station on 101 or 0800 555 111 and said it was possible the yellow metallic roof sign had been removed and discarded.
“Anyone finding such a sign or indeed, the stolen cash box which might also have been thrown out, should get in touch.”
DI Bellamy added: “We are following up a number of lines of inquiry. Several people phoned in last night with helpful information and others have made contact following the initial witness appeals.
“We are grateful to those who have already been in contact but anxious to hear from anyone else who saw anything which might assist the investigation.”
Information concerning the identities of the two offenders can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers charity for which a reward may be paid.
