Police seek witnesses to assault on two men in Oswestry
Police have issued a witness appeal after two men were assaulted and subjected to homophobic and racist abuse while walking along a disused railway line at Oswestry.

The men aged 20 and 31, were visitors to the town who had stopped off to walk their dog.
As they walked along the old railway track between an area known as the gas works bridge near Sycamore Drive and Coney Green, they passed a large group of people sat under the bridge.
They were approached by three males and as they returned past the group a short time later, one of the men was punched and knocked to the ground. He suffered bruising and both were subjected to abuse.
Police Constable Sally Jones, the investigating officer, has appealed for witnesses to come forward.
She said: “This was an unprovoked assault which happened at around 5.45pm on Wednesday 21 August.
“I would urge anyone who saw this incident to contact Oswestry police station on 101. In particular, there was a woman walking with a young child along the track at the time of the offence and I would ask her to come forward, or anyone who knows her identity.
“Just prior to the assault, she talked to both victims and would have witnessed what happened. It’s thought she now lives in London but used to live in the Oswestry area and was visiting friends.”
Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers charity for which a reward may be paid.
