Witnesses sought after woman seriously injured in lorry crash near Ludlow

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash which happened at the junction of the A49 with the A4113 at Bromfield near Ludlow shortly before 12.50pm yesterday.

The driver of a silver coloured Honda Civic, a woman in her eighties, received serious injuries and was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. Her condition is described as serious but stable.

A man in his forties who was the driver of a silver Mitsubishi Canter dropside lorry which was invloved, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

It’s thought the car was joining the A49 from the A4113 and the lorry was travelling northwards along the A49 towards Craven Arms.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said today: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances and appealing to anyone who saw the collision or the events leading up to it, to contact Shrewsbury police station on 101.”
