Trust to provide new homes in St Martins and Ludlow
The Wrekin Housing Trust has submitted plans to build new homes in St Martins and Ludlow.

The Trust has formed the Bower Farm Project Board with Shropshire Council, St Martins Parish Council and local residents to bring new houses to the St Martins area, designed to suit local people and meet demand in the area.
The new development, which plans have now been submitted for, looks to provide 12 new homes at Bower Farm, consisting of eight two-bedroom bungalows, three two-bedroom houses and one three-bedroom house. All of the new homes would be made available for affordable rent and would be managed by the Trust.
The Wrekin Housing Trust is also working on other developments in Oswestry and the surrounding areas, with almost 30 new homes being built overall. The Trust’s partner Shropshire Housing Alliance is also in the process of converting buildings for new homes and housing advice services in the town.
In Ludlow, the Trust is inviting local residents along to the event to view plans and ask questions about a new scheme of 12 affordable homes for the town, which could be built on the site of the former tax office, which now stands empty.
The ‘drop in’ event will be held at Rockspring Community Centre on Tuesday 3rd September from 3-7pm, and following this a planning application will be submitted. If successful, work would start in 2014 with the homes, consisting of eight two-bedroom houses and four one-bedroom apartments, completed the following year. The Trust would work with UK Construction to build the properties.
All of the homes would be made available through Shropshire Council’s Homepoint service, using their housing allocation policies, ensuring that they would be offered to local people in the first instance.
