Police investigate attempted robbery in Brookside
Police in Telford are appealing for information after an attempted robbery in the Brookside Avenue area during the early hours of Saturday morning.

At around 3.30am, as the victim – a 19-year-old man – made his way home from a night out along a footpath that runs between Bishopdale and Blakemore, he was approached by two unknown men.
One of the men asked the victim if he could borrow a lighter but the victim said he did not have one.
At this point one of the men pulled out a small knife and waved it at the victim before asking him to empty his pockets.
Without thinking the victim immediately made off on foot and although he accidentally dropped some small change as fled the scene, the men did not chase him and the man was able to get away without being robbed.
Having initially failed to flag down a taxi and report this incident, the victim then made his way to Stirchley petrol station and called the police from there.
The victim has described one of the two men as being black and around 5ft 9inches tall, and the other as being white and as standing at just over 6ft.
Police would like to hear from anyone who believes they may know who the two men involved in this incident are and anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 110S 070913.
Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously if you’d like to leave information without identifying yourself.
