Police on patrol in Oswestry disturb burglars
Thieves attempting to steal a car after breaking an Oswestry home abandoned the vehicle after they were disturbed by a police patrol.

The thieves were attempting to steal a Renault Megane parked at the roadside in Jemmett Close at around 11.15pm last night.
They started the car after stealing the keys from the owner’s kitchen. It’s thought they spotted police officers on routine patrol and fled before being seen.
The car was found about 100 metres from the house with its engine still running.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Peter Brophy appealed for witnesses who may have seen the offenders to contact Oswestry police station on 101.
“We have recovered the car and will be conducting a full forensic examination. I would ask anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area of Jemmett Close late last night to contact the police.”
Information concerning the identities of the offenders can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
